| Recommendation
of the Fachverband Electronic Components and Systems within
ZVEI |
 |
The
request addressed by the automotive industry, to provide
material contents data in IMDS (International Material Data
System) format for each individual component poses large
problems. The huge time and personnel resources required to
provide this level of detailed information makes this approach
not practicable. Any requirements on a legal basis do not exist.
The electronic components industry is of course
interested in finding a satisfactory solution to the issue of
providing the product data in a way that is useful to the
customer and has created the following solution.
This solution will be based on the presentation
of special product families with typical characteristics, where
the number of varying inputs will be drastically reduced. This
simplification significantly reduces the costs and offers
additional advantages through the opportunity to second source.
This integrated manufacturer extension also takes the interests
of individual suppliers in the electronics industry into account. |
